SINGAPORE 2 NOVEMBER 2024.

No improvement in our sleeping last night. The alarm rings at 6am because the run starts at 7:30. We take a taxi to the start and are dropped off right by the start. Steadily, tourists from the UK arrive including Halifax, Penistone and Stone. Whilst we're gathering, a family of six sea otters run across our path. It's already 80F when the run starts. The course follows the Bay and is out and back twice. We share the path with walkers and cyclists. It's very busy.

After the run, about 25 of us get together for breakfast. The atmosphere is brilliant, everyone is included in the various conservation and the food is excellent. A group photo is taken and shared by Airdrop. Something new for us! At the end, after about an hour, Ingram, one of the organisers, leads a group of us to the metro station.

We head for Chinatown. We're approached by an 80 year old local man. He tells us that he's too old to work so the government pays him SGD 10 a day to help tourists. Rosie stays and shops whilst Paul heads to the harbour. He walks across to the theme park island called Sentosa, which houses Universal Studios, Sea World and others. Rosie has picked up souvenirs for the grandchildren.

We walk along the streets near to the hotel. They're full of many nationalities and there's a lovely buzz. We choose a Viet restaurant for dinner. The food is alright but the highlight is the egg custard coffee enjoyed by Rosie.
