QUEENSTOWN 22 NOVEMBER 2024.
We walk down to breakfast at 8:30. We meet a couple that last night were trying to drive to Bob’s Peak. They tell us that you need a 4 wheel drive to make the journey. They’ve booked a cable car trip for today instead. Rosie fancies this for tomorrow.
We drive to Arrowtown. It’s an old fashioned village much frequented by tourists. Before we get to the village, we take a walk along the river.

The village is very busy and there are queues at all the coffee shops. Rosie has a look around the shops before we head back. I took this as there was a lull in the number of tourists.

We’re early so we stop at the jet boat station at Arthur’s Point. It’s very expensive for a twenty minute ride but those taking part seem to love it.

We’ve time to kill before the boat ride so call at the cable car station to book tickets for tomorrow. We’re told that it’s cheaper to book on line. So, on to a cafe to do so. Except that it’s full up tomorrow. So we book for Sunday instead.
There are large queues for the boat but we manage to get seats by the window. The trip takes 45 minutes to Walters Peak where we disembark. There’s a tour around the farm then a very tasty afternoon tea.

We land at 5pm, just in time for a couple of drinks in the Whakatipu Bar. It turns out that the manager is from Wilmslow and his dad hails from Stretford.
