Causing a Chuckle in Citadella.

BRUGNERA.

A quiet night until 6:30 when traffic started up. Thankfully, we're no longer worried about racing to work. Instead, we enjoy a leisurely breakfast of porridge and bread rolls.

Rosie is driving us to Citadella to ensure that she keeps her hand in. Naturally, it's not all plain sailing. At one point, a guy with a red flag stops the traffic to allow a goods train to cross the road. It takes about 5 minutes to pass.

Heavy rain starts as we arrive on the outskirts of the city. Undaunted, we don waterproofs, in Rosie's case two lots, and head to the centre. Unfortunately, the market has finished and the town is almost deserted. Those that are still around smile to each other when they pass Rosie. The sight is made funnier by her hidden bum bag giving the impression that she is heavily pregnant.

There seems little point in hanging around so find a nice-sounding site about 50 miles away. We stop at a hyper market called Iper Lando. It is one on the cheapest we've found in Italy.

The site is in Pasco di Villa Varda in Brugnera. The grounds are on the side of a river and house a magnificent villa with chapel, tower and mausoleum. Much nicer than the sports stadium in Citadella.
