A Boat Made of Apples, Really?

GIMONT.

Rosemary decides to buy a bottle of Muscat from the shop after enjoying her drink so much in the bar last night. Paul takes advantage of the free shower but Rosie uses the van citing the obvious lack of bleach in use.

We empty and fill the van. There is no repeat of the leak from yesterday morning. It must have been the act of leaving the pump on.

Our lunch time destination is Mirepoix. The journey is a picturesque one through the hills. We can see the snow-capped Pyrenees in the distance. Our gauge shows temperatures in the late teens, thankfully.

Rosie visited the town back when she owned the caravan in Algeres. They celebrated the apple harvest by building a boat made of said apples, bizarre. Nothing so spectacular, today, but the wooden structures of the buildings and archways make it well worth visiting.

On to Tournefeuille to check out the venue for tomorrow's parkrun. Unfortunately, we hit the early rush hour traffic but the venue is easy to find and looks good. Rosie is planning a cycle ride and we'll both finish with a swim.

Pick up some salmon for dinner and drive 30 miles away to Gimont. The site is by a fishing lake. Unfortunately, it's on a busy main road . Hopefully the traffic won't continue long into the night. Shortly after we arrive another van parks alongside. He wants to shake my hand so I try to explain that my name is Paul. I ask him for his, he replies "non". Does that mean he doesn't have one?

We walk around the lake and the village. There are some aggressive geese at one point near the lake. We avoid them but the man with no name and his wife walk through them. All the more impressive as the wife is struggling to walk with two sticks never mind run if necessary.
