AVINYONET DEL PENEDES.
The sunshine acts as a natural alarm clock shortly after 7am so we're on the road by 10am. We've decided to go inland for a change. Our lunchtime destination is Morella. The route takes us into the hills, two climbs of over 3,000 feet but the roads are excellent.
Morella is a hilltop town with a castle and a church. Both require an entrance fee so we stick to wandering around and patronising a local cafe. However, it also boasts a museum of the dinosaur, I assume to attract the youngsters.
No comments about which one is the real dinosaur, please.

Two coaches have emptied their contents of pensionistas so we have to stay on our toes to avoid them. We enjoy lunch on the car park wall soaking up the sun.

There is motorhome stop just outside the village, it's a fabulous spot but it is too early for us to consider stopping.
Our final destination is just before Barcelona. A great journey through the hills and countryside. We pass a sign announcing that we are crossing the line of longitude from west to east, a direct line from Greenwich.
The stop is in the grounds of a vineyard. No charge but you have to register on their website. We may be tempted to buy a bottle of wine in the morning.

A walk into the village 1 kilometre away proves fruitless. Although we can count several bars and restaurants, they are all closed up. There are echoes of last year as we move further north. Fortunately, we'd picked up a lasagne and a bottle of white Rioja en route.

The "same" photo in the light.
