PONTEVERDE.
Who knew there are two Camino? We learnt earlier this week that the Camino from San Sebastian can be performed via the coast or inland. However, there is a second Camino from Fatima in Portugal to Santiago. Milladoiro sits on the latter about 8km from the cathedral in Santiago. After breakfast we decide to walk it into the city. We can pretend to be the two pilgrims in the title of this blog.

The way is well marked although every marker shows the kilometres left. I don't think that I would like that if I were doing the full walk, it would demoralise me. The walk was undulating but manageable. The 8km took 2 hours.

Mass started at noon. The highlight was the huge thurible at the end. We understood that it would be at the beginning! A Japanese lad next to me spent most of mass reading the prices on a flyer advertising pizza.

Lunch was enjoyed in a small bar, croquettes and cuttlefish. Surprisingly, the prices for eating on the terrace outside are 5% dearer than inside where we sit because it is warmer. An older woman was sat at the next table with a Yorkie. We tried to explain that we were from the same county but I'm not sure that we got through.
We saw the couple from Tapia looking into the window but they didn't see our waving. Rosie shopped and caught the bus back, I walked back. Rosie cheated by buying a Camino Way tee shirt. I'm not sure 8km counts!
We do our laundry at Mercadona. The timing works just right for a coffee and a shop. We fill up with water and set off for Ponteverde. It's 30 miles away and a surprise. The site is on the river by a very busy city.

After dinner, we walk into the city. There is a fabulous atmosphere as many bars have their outside tables full.
