CANNOBIO.

The air has cleared by the morning. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast followed by a 20 minute walk. Despite repeated attempts Satnav insists that I return along the narrow road from yesterday. Somehow, it seems easier, either because of the different side of the road or because I've experienced it already. It's an unmanned site but has all the facilities except a shower.

Spend the afternoon by the lake. The lifeguard spends most of his time keeping children off the inflatables because they need to pay than watching for struggling bathers.

Sat drinking a glass of wine when Steve from Wolverhampton introduces himself. He's thinking about buying an Elddis and wants our opinion. Offer him a glass of wine and he stays.

We begin to hear a faint voice calling "hello". After several calls, we look over the side of the riverbank. An Italian has tried to take a shortcut down the steep side and has fallen into brambles with his bike on top of him. Young German couple join in the assistance. Wrap our washing line around Steve (he being a retired policeman) but it needs a second pair of hands so I scramble down on my hands and knees. He is stunned but generally unhurt.

Steve is joined by his wife Debs and we end up drinking 3 bottles of wine (boys) and numerous pastis (girls).
