COPENHAGEN.
The thunderstorm has lowered the temperature but It's still windy and overcast. Rosie picked up a leaflet about the Viking Museum in Roskilde last night so we decide to drive over to it (It's about 35 miles west).
We arrive just in time for the English version of the tour which commences at midday. The guide is very good, her English is excellent and She's very interesting. There are 5 reconstructed boats which had been sunk to block the way into Roskilde. It was the seat of the month of the time and regularly threatened. 5,000 was the population in the eleventh century, considered large at the time but the size of Marsden, now.
I don't remember studying the Vikings at school so it is all new and educational to me. Rosie enjoyed looking at the boats having taught the subject recently.

Walk into town to see the cathedral which is now the resting place of the Danish Monarchy. The town is bigger than we imagined with an extensive shopping street and a busy railway station. A red squirrel runs across our path on the way back to the van.

Back to Amager calling for diesel on the way. I couldn't get the pump to work until the guy next to me explained that I had to prepay in the shop first. Not very trusting, I must say!
The site is less crowded than last night so we move further along and discover a great view over the harbour.
