Laundry Day in Langskrona

LANGSKRONA.

It was pitch black in the night, no lights whatsoever. Rosie opened the blind at 5:30 in the hope of seeing a moose. God only knows what she would have done if one had been staring back at her through the window.

We've chosen Langskrona as our next stop mainly because the site offers a washing machine. Well, it is Monday and, according to the old Scaffold song " Monday's washing day". The approach is disappointing, the route takes us through an industrial estate. However, the road ends in a pretty harbour.

TThe washing takes until 4pm. After that we set off for a walk into the town. The sky has darkened but fortunately the rain only starts just as we arrive back at the van. In between we view the Citadel, built by King Christian III of Denmark between 1549 and 1559.

Then walk through the shops on the high streets. Take a different route back to buy provisions at a shopping mall. We learn that we were a street away from the off-licence but it's now the beat part of a mile away in the wrong direction. Another alcohol free day. We settle for a McFlurry at McDonald's instead.
