Rosie, Where's the Bikes?

LYSEKIL.

Today started off so well then went rapidly downhill. It was a sticky night but rain drove the temperature down to a much more comfortable level. The lady from last night is called Christine. She has left us a note thanking us for our conversation last night. We went for a swim after breakfast and washed our hair in the lake.

Set off and crossed a canal bridge with a slight bump. Something flashed in my rear view mirror, then I noticed that I couldn't see the bikes. "Where are the bikes?" we're my first words. Stopped the van to find that the screws had worked loose from the top of the bike rack. The bikes were hanging on by two bent bolts. Stripped the rack from the van and put the bikes in the van. I can only believe that the speedbump yesterday caused more damage than I realised.

Drive on to Lysekil, there are several sites but none of them appeal. Settle on a park and ride site. Get provisions and find an MoT station next door. A helpful mechanic gives us the name of a garage. Unfortunately, he couldn't help us. Back to the park & ride and we get the bus into town. Enjoy ice cream whilst listening to a singer collecting for a sick children's charity.

Walk along the seafront. Enjoy the evening sun before getting the bus back to site. It's only a 5 minute journey but all uphill.
