A Decision is Taken.

GRONINGEN.

Wednesday's disturbed night results in a lie-in until 8:30. Rosie swam and met a couple from Almondbury in the pool. Had to vacate the site by 11:00 so at 11:05 we were on the road again. Last night we decided to press on until the leak is too great and then have the pipes capped.

Stopped in Harlingen for supplies and lunch. A busy ferry harbour made worse by the arrival of a ferry as we were driving through. However, we find free parking on the edge of the town and enjoy a walk.

On to Groningen where we can park for free at a Park and Ride facility. We are just in time to catch a bus into the city. We hold it up by struggling to pay using our debit card, no cash is taken. The ride us about 10 minutes. Phil Coughlan's daughter works in the city but is unable to meet us due to a prior engagement. It's a shame that we're a day later that planned.

We call at McDonald's to use the toilet and are charged 50 cents. Bizarrely, we are offered a free drink to the value of euro 2.50. Choose a Spanish tapas bar for dinner. A strange set up, 4 restaurants headed Via Vecchio ( Italian) selling Spanish food and Cuban cocktails.

Very good food and a return to Verdejo wine, very nice.

Ran for the bus which arrived as we did. Very embarrassing at the stop, we could work out how to open the door. Cue strange stares.
