GAGGENAU.
The rain bounced down on the van in the early hours of this morning waking both of us up. It continued until about 10:00 when it abated sufficiently for us to pack the van up.
We head for Gaggenau, near to Baden Baden. The site is free, we only pay for electricity. It's in a car park adjacent to a spa. Rosie decides we are going to spend the afternoon in there.

First, we walk into town which is about 15 minutes away. It's very new and also houses a large Mercedes Benz plant. Wikipedia tells me that 70% of the town was destroyed when the plant was bombed by the US in WW2.
The spa is housed in grounds which were used by the Nazis to detain French forced labour employed in the car plant. A plaque is sited in the meadows.
The spa is fabulous. We even get to join in with 15 minutes of water gymnatics every hour. We spend 3 hours in there and won't need another wash for a week (only joking).
Return to the van and find the car park has filled with vans. Next door is a GB plate. The couple are from Dorset although he originates from North Yorkshire. We spend a couple of hours swapping anecdotes from the trip.
