UBERLINGEN.
Our helpul German friend brings another gadget over to us this morning. It tells how much gas is in the tank, most useful, must get one. The fridge is working so well we are able to turn the temperature down a notch or two.
We are using the motorway to head to Bodensee (in English, Lake Constance). The tunnel between Austria and German is 10 miles long and costs 10 euro. Before leaving Austria we call at a parking spot on the motorway to empty the grey water and take on fresh drinking water all for free.
Our first point of call is at Lindau at the south east corner of the lake. The campsite is a couple of kilometres from the lake and wants 20 euro to park outside the camp. Swiftly move on to a forest just before Ravensburg. Nice but very lonely with no inhabitants for at least a mile.
So, we drive into the town and find a shop for tonight's evening meal. You can slice the bread yourself so we have a go. Put it in the wrong way and end up with soldiers for boiled eggs. Surreptitiously, we pile the bits into a bag and run away.
Our third attempt is at Uberlingen. On route we pass fields full of white storms eating the insects disturbed by the mowing of the hay.
This is the right site for us. It's almost full, costs 10 euro for a full day and you can buy electricity. The parking ticket can be used to travel down to the town and back for free.

A previous camper has left electricity available so we use that. Decide to walk into the town, a distance of 3km. The rain holds off until we return 2 hours later. Then it pours down. In between, we enjoy a stroll along the lake and then enjoy a beer in a cafe bar over looking it.
