VRBE.
Rosie has found a spa near to Lake Bled which offers swimming and sunbathing at a pensioners rate of 5.40 euro for three hours. So, after making the most of the expensive facilities we head off there.
There is a no motorhome sign outside the hotel but the receptionist tells us to ignore it. After some confusion over the unisex changing rooms, we are sunbathing and swimming.

The views are stunning and there's the added advantage of a water slide. It takes us both back to our younger days and we make full use of it. We make full use of the three hours then sneak down to the lake leaving the van at the hotel.
Just as we start walking, it starts to rain so we nip into the Park Cafe. Allegedly, it's the home of the Bled Cake (like a vanilla slice). So we had two of the 500,000 they make a year with a glass of Muscat wine each.

The staff appear to be shouting at each other over a table of Germans next to us. They seemed to demand special service. However, Rosie saw that their bill came to over 100 euro so maybe they had a right to.
Our stop for the night is at Vrbe. It houses a museum dedicated to a local famous writer. Call me cynical but every village seems to have a museum dedicated to someone which has funding from the EU or Norway or both. The village also boasts a 200 year old Linden tree surrounded by 16 stones. These represent the local landowners who met to discuss local business.

Thunder and lightning brings heavy rain, sometimes torrential for the end of the day.
