DIVACA, SLOVENIA.

We head for mass at 9:30, the church is 15 minutes walk away. It's a first holy communion for a number of schoolchilren so the priest milks his hour of glory. Mass doesn't finish until 10:35. It's an eye pener to see the different outfits of the Italian parents.

On the road after breakfast at 12 noon. Our destination is Pivka, east of Lipica. Lipica is where they breed the famous white horses for Austria and Spain. We plan to visit the stables tomorrow.

Along the route, we drive through the fascinately named Doberdob.

We pass a sign to the stables so change our plan and find a nearer stop.

Divaca houses a museum of Slovenian film and the website says we can park there if we're visiting.

We drive down to the town to fill up with diesel. We stop for half a litre of beer and 100 cl of wine. The bill, 3.10 euro!
