SESTO AL REGHENA.
A little rain overnight but nothing to concern us. However, it does concern a couple in a tent behind us. They spend a good hour adding to their guide ropes as though are expecting a hurricane.
Stopped again on leaving site to be told that we have washing on the back of the van.
Set off with 150 Kuna still in the purse expecting to spend it before the border. Unfortunatey, this appears before we realise and get no opportunity, all at once we're being waved through Croatia's passport control. Then the same thing happens and we're in Slovenia. We avoid the motorways so don't have to buy a vignette. An hour later, we approach the Italian border. Typically, they were all on lunch, the doors and windows were closed.
Our destination was just outside Monfalcone, a harbour car park. Rosie wasn't happy with the area, anyway a large sign prohibited parking overnight. We had a picnic and moved on.
Rosie has picked a rural site. Another little gem. We arrive and find we're the only ones there. Entrance is by obtaining a coin. You should be able to prepay but it doesn't work. We press a help button and a couple appear within minutes. Somehow, he makes us understand what we have to do and even refunds 2 euro we thought that we had lost.

We walk to the village which is about 600 metres away from the centre. A lovely village with a town hall and an old church which hold the urn of Saint Anastasia. We decide to sit and enjoy a beer. Our overwhelming impression is that everyone in the village smokes. Attend mass in the crypt of the church. It's full so we suspect it was a memorial mass for someone.

I'm joined by a Jay as I put the rubbish in the bin. It seems quite happy to hop in front of me. I've never been so close to one before.
