A Last Night in Croatia.

SAVUDRIJA.

The sun is shining again this morning, what else do you expect when the locals are back at work. Take advantage of it by sitting and reading by the van until midday.

We're packing up when an Austrian woman in a tent offers Rosie a glass of wine (the remains of the bottle). I jokingly ask where mine is and she brings out the remains of a bottle of white wine.

We're stopped at the exit by the receptionist to tell us that we have washing on the back of the van. We tell her that we drive with it to dry. She's so amused she takes a picture of it on her phone.

We pick up provisions at LIDL at Pazin, beefburgers for dinner tonight.

We stop at Porec at take a walk around the town. Rosie enjoys dipping into the shops but buys nothing. We while away an hour and a half there simply strolling.

We're heading for Umag but the site no longer exists. So, on to Savudrija. However, roadworks cause a diversion which cause a number of false turns.

The site is a good one although Rosie doesn't like being so close to the toilet block.

We walk along the beach via a lighthouse. We're not sure if it is still active but it looks pretty. Walking later, after dark, I discover that it is a working one.

We find a bar and enjoy a beer. Some teenagers, obviously drunk are skinny dipping in the sea. On the way back, we notice that the fields of grass are being harvested for hay, in May!

Throughout Croatia, we've heard an sound like an alarm. We first heard it in Sutivan . I thought that it was something within the van, a gadget of some sort. However, we heard it on a number of occasions. Finally looked it up tonight and discovered that it's the call of the Scops Owl.
