AMMOUDIA.
We had no idea what time it was when the alarm went off. English time is 2:30, Italian 3:30 & Greek time 4:30. There is a shower at the vehicle level, the best so far. A small breakfast of jam and bread and coffee to keep us going. The ship docks at 6:00 Greek time and we're quickly of the boat. It seemed strange driving in the dark. We could see the low hanging mist in the mountains as we approached them.
We decided to head for a little village on the coast. The sun is just coming up as we arrive. A brilliant red sky.

However, the euphoria doesn't last long and we decide to go back to sleep. 3 hours later the fishermen disturb us. We have a second breakfast of coffee and cake.
A walk around the village discovers a shower on the beach that we might use in the morning if we are brave enough. We decide to have a drink in one of several tabernas on the riverfront which runs into the sea. Two Greek beers cost 6 euro. Oh, and the owner brought out 2 large dishes of food, gratis.

A lazy afternoon followed including an extended stroll through the the village. We were having a pre-dinner drink when we are joined by a local. It seemed churlish not to offer him a drink and some crisps. Despite looking sceptically at the crisps, he took some and the smallest drink, tried to engage in conversation with some success and went on his way. He called on the way back but the wine had gone by then. Probably disappointed, but who knows?
We decide to return to the same bar from lunchtime for a post dinner drink. The intention is to buy a drink simply to use their facilities to wash and clean our teeth. The plan backfires as, for a beer and a coffee, we're presented with two more tapas and two sweet biscuits. All for the cost of 5 euro, including tip.
