MIKITAS.
The fishermen wake us at 7am. However, we're made of strong stuff and go back to sleep until after 8am. I need to print a form for work so we decide to move on to the nearest town, Preveza. We park on the outskirts of the town and walk to the harbour where ewe find a sports bar & internet cafe.

Job done we walk into the town. It's another hidden gem. A street of tabernas overlooking the harbour and a street of shops just inland. We call in at a local bookshop for a guide book but no English version. And, they tell us that the Tourist Information is closed, naturally.
Paul needs a haircut so we wander around town for the best part of half an hour. Just as we're about to give up, we stumble across a trendy looking barbers. We are 3rd in the queue. The barber is a young lad of 30 or so and his sister is keeping him company, Georgio and Effi. Effi works at the local airport and speaks good English. She tells us of the sites to visit and of a number of events in the town in the next couple of days, it being Orthodox Easter this weekend.
We head for Zalongo where the local women and their children jumped of a cliff to avoid capture by the Turks in the early 1800's.

There we need to wait for an hour before the monastery and cliffs open. We wait with a Greek family of Mum, Dad & 3 sons, Alex, Christo & Sophocles,. Rosie tells them that she has a Chris and an Alex. Cathy how do you fancy changing your name. The family share cake and oranges with us.
It's 440 steps up to where the women leapt off. We're sure that we would have changed our minds long before reaching the top.

Back at the monastry, a nun offers us Greek Delight. What is it with the Greeks and food?
We say goodbye to the family but Alex stops us from leaving. Rosie has acquired a penfriend!
