Ferry across the Adriatic

BARI.
Up at 8am for a run. Ran up the hill to the new buildings dedicated to Padre Pio. Walked down through the new church to his tomb. I've visited St Francis's tomb in Assisi and there is a stark contrast, the age of that gives it a sense of wonder whereas this one seems very clinical. Everyone else is in sombre attire, me, I'm wearing a bright orange running shirt.
Back at the camp, I ask the owner of the adjacent van for the name of his bird, he looks at me as though I am simple and replies "canary".
On the road by midday. The route to Bari is very fast without recourse to the toll road. Stop at shopping centre at Molfatte and buy enough food for several days.
The ferry sails at 19:30. We arrive in plenty of time at 16:30. We buy tickets to Greece and return to Ancona. The initial price is 474 euro but with discounts for age and club membership it drops to 334 euro. I lead a convoy of vans down the wrong road and we all have to turn around and I lose my first place. A wait of 30 minutes and we're on board. A stevedore positions all the van so that we have aview of the sea. We can sleep in the van on the vehicle deck. Just as well as we dock between 5:30 and 6:00, Greek time, losing an hour.

Talk to a nice Dutch couple before we sail.
Watch the ferry set sail, a lorry arrived at 7:29 but they let him on. A pilot ship touches the side of our ship to steer us through the harbour.
